[00:00:25] Hadriana gives some really actionable tips that you can start implementing right away and just offers such a refreshing perspective on wealth so make sure you have a pen to take notes. Let's get started. Mhm.

[:

[00:00:43] Natalie: Hi everyone. And welcome to another episode of From a Full Cup. I am so excited to have with me today, Hadriana. Hadriana, welcome to the show.

[:

[00:00:59] Natalie: We always like to start off with the This Filled My Cup episode. I'd love to hear your feedback on one episode that really resonated with you.

[:

[00:01:31] Natalie: And before we get started, if you could just introduce yourself to the listeners, please.

[:

[00:01:58] Hadriana: And I think everything I do, I do it with the intention of helping to inspire someone somewhere. And that kind of is a thread that connects all the hundred thousand things that I put my hands to.

[:

[00:02:24] Natalie: I think a lot of times people feel like they have to be in one particular box, or they always have to, you know, Answer that question with one particular role. And it's like, no, there are so many different dimensions to us. And also maybe just different interests and passions that we have. And so they don't always have to just fit into one silo.

[:

[00:03:01] Natalie: What was your past money story and how did you get into this line of work?

[:

[00:03:30] Hadriana: Some days I couldn't pay my bills. I was robbing Peter to pay Paul. And that was me with all of this knowledge. I mean, in all seriousness, I understand more things about money that some people will go through their lifetimes and still not get. So I've studied, I've tested, I've. All this stuff that the rigor of maintaining a license and in my personal life, when it comes to me and my money, it was an unholy mess.

[:

[00:04:21] Hadriana: And my profession and my reality So my relationship with money was in a word, a mess, it was a mess, and it was one that I could not let anyone else see. So my career as a wealth coach, and as a wealth strategist started with me deciding that what was out there was not meeting the need that I had to thrive and to create a healthy relationship with my money.

[:

[00:05:17] Hadriana: So first I healed myself and then I kept learning so I could heal others and I can offer inspiration to other women so that they too can come to a place of appreciating their money, being confident in their capacity to create and manage wealth and be happy in who they are outside of their money as well.

[:

[00:05:44] Natalie: Yeah. And I, I appreciate that honesty and transparency. And so maybe I'll respond with some of the same because for me, like you were my coach, right? So I worked with you and I've talked a little bit on the podcast, but not so much, so maybe I'll get into it a little bit more, but.

[:

[00:06:15] Natalie: I put just a little bit of money in at first because, you know, you don't want to lose any, not me. Like I am not a gambler. I, every dollar I want it to myself, but when I saw my account growing, I was like, Oh, I like this, I started putting in more and more, and then I learned about something called options.

[:

[00:06:46] Natalie: And then the stock market started to go down.

[:

[00:07:06] Natalie: You mentioned Hadriana earlier about like, Shame and guilt. And that's all I felt.

[:

[00:07:20] Natalie: And so I remember I was like, I just don't know how to move forward. And I started just talking to people and be like, does anybody know a coach? I need to get over this. I need to like figure out how to like recover and start again. And I spoke with you. And in that conversation, you helped me have this breakthrough that I think no one else had given me of just like, Natalie it's happened.

[:

[00:08:09] Natalie: And why are we doing it? And I'll be honest. Y'all, I lost a lot of money. I'll say the number just because I think sometimes it's good to be vulnerable so other people can hear.

[:

[00:08:28] Natalie: Level of debilitation and paralysis. That's where I was. I was paralyzed and I just couldn't move forward. So that's

[:

[00:08:52] Hadriana: I mean, there is literally a stop loss option, but set some thresholds that's going to protect your levels of participation. And that's the same for any strategy, to be honest, whether it's real estate, whether you're going to do venture capitalism even if for entrepreneurship, because that's another wealth strategy that we can use.

[:

[00:09:41] Hadriana: So they're all part and parcel of the experience you've had and the experiences you will continue to have at every level of wealth, there will be challenges.

[:

[00:10:16] Hadriana: Let's go. We can, we can ride with that. What we need to safeguard is alignment so that it. It's for you and we need to ensure that we have protections and boundaries in place so that we can literally optimize our success as much as possible. So thank you for being so vulnerable, Natalie. Thank you for sharing that with others.

[:

[00:11:06] Hadriana: So we use it as a trampoline base to bounce off of, but we don't run away from it.

[:

[00:11:18] Hadriana: A lot of what I'm seeing, well, we we've spoken about the shame We also have the whole idea of avoidance.

[:

[00:11:50] Hadriana: And I do believe that it is probably more prevalent among visible minorities. We have this dependence on others. To do better for us than we can do for ourselves. Now I have to be honest and say, there is a difference between going to a professional and seeking assistance. And just thinking, you know what?

[:

[00:12:48] Hadriana: They would not seek clarity. They would bluster and fake it. And I'm like what's the outcome for this person's finances if 1 is just checked out and the other 1 is confused, but will not ask for help. And I think it may have something to do with the male female dynamic because as the advisor and the guy, he rarely do they want to say, you know what?

[:

[00:13:42] Hadriana: stay connected and that might look like interviewing 5, 6, 7 different financial advisors before selecting the one that you feel most connected to and that you can trust. And that's the other issue. Women have been burned so much in the financial services sector that our trust is zero to none when it comes to being served well in that sector.

[:

[00:14:33] Hadriana: Let's see how this can work because I am not leaving without dot, dot, dot, dot. And this was, like completely opposite to how I used to and how many women approach their appointments with financial professionals. When we go in confident and aware of what options are out there, we know how to push and get what we want.

[:

[00:15:23] Natalie: I think a lot of times, sometimes women even have the intuition.

[:

[00:15:41] Natalie: And so a lot of women just stay in these situations with advisors that really aren't looking out for their best interest because they, they don't want to offend them. They don't want to hurt their feelings. They want to be positive. It's a people pleasing is really what it comes down to, right? But there comes a point where as women, we have to choose what's best for ourselves because when we're doing well, our communities do well, our families do well, society does well, right?

[:

[00:16:24] Hadriana: Don't get me wrong. Women advisors are fantastic. The challenge for any advisor to thrive in their

[:

[00:16:42] Hadriana: They need to have certain assets under management and that number has to be so and so they need to be able to generate a certain amount of trails, again, numbers, so cannot give too much of her time to helping her female client feel empowered, right? That's where a coach comes in, because now the coach does not have to hit those thresholds.

[:

[00:17:32] Hadriana: She's there to do a specific task. A coach on the other hand, is there to do what you need as a client to help you really thrive within the areas of wealth.

[:

[00:17:50] Hadriana: So one thing that we have to do as women is, and I shared this a little earlier, we need to stay in touch.

[:

[00:18:26] Hadriana: And when women turn a blind eye to their finances, they're putting themselves in a high risk, high vulnerability position for abuse to take place, whether deliberate or not, whether conscious or not, you are giving that power over to someone who may or may not have your best interests at heart. So we cannot

[:

[00:19:24] Hadriana: Well, let me tell you that there's no guarantee you're going to hit 60 or 65 or even 55, which is the earliest, most retirement programs come into fruition. What happens between now and then, can you live a life that is full and rich between now and then? We cannot leave our well being and If you read my book, you know that wealth is more than just the number.

[:

[00:20:23] Hadriana: Before what options do you have that could actually work really well for you and do great things for your family between now and whenever that time is that you will choose to do something differently. We need to stay open and not operate in fear. Because fear is going to close us off having an open mind will make things available to us that otherwise we wouldn't so protecting our finances.

[:

[00:21:10] Natalie: So if you were to leave the listeners with one specific thing that you want to kind of give them a call to action. Go start doing this, or at least look into this one strategy. What is something that you can share with the listeners?

[:

[00:21:45] Hadriana: When I started getting paid to speak, I'm like, yes, I can do this because this girl can talk and I happen to have things that can move people's lives in the positive direction. And you're going to pay me to do that. Brilliant. Fantastic. It's finding ways it's to infuse unadulterated joy and purpose in how you make your money.

[:

[00:22:33] Hadriana: that allows you to maybe do hair. You control how many you do. You control whose head you, that you're going to work on. You control the styles that you decide you want to work with. And do this once a week, twice a week, whatever the schedule is. Create revenue within your control. And I think one, at least one of these would be great.

[:

[00:23:15] Natalie: I love that. I've never heard that advice before because you put a spin on it.

[:

[00:23:34] Natalie: I'm definitely I'm already doing it for myself, but it's a tip I'm going to be able to share with others because same like you, I love to speak as well. So I love public speaking. Any opportunity I have for a microphone, I'm like, yes. And then you're going to pay me to let's go. I love it. Now, let me ask you, what is your hope for your legacy?

[:

[00:24:00] Hadriana: So for me personally, Hadriana, I believe that my purpose. is to inspire. So I like to say I'm not the standard. I'm just here to offer some inspiration and I found, I did a lot of, I did a lot of deep work to understand what my purpose is.

[:

[00:24:46] Hadriana: So regardless of if I'm emceeing and I'm making people laugh, Or if I am sitting and having a quiet conversation with my daughter it could be, I am coaching or doing a group seminar. Anything that I'm doing, I'm doing it with the. Goal of delivering inspiration. And for me, inspiration is not motivation. Inspiration is that influence that reverberates even after the emotions died down.

[:

[00:25:53] Hadriana: So my ripple. Is beyond countability. I cannot measure it. And my legacy can live through. I like to thank everyone that I touch. So that's the legacy for me to inspire. Maybe it's too simple, but that's what works for me. And I think I can do that. Well, I I've been given the gift to do that well, and I give it freely.

[:

[00:26:24] Natalie: Yeah, and no such thing as too simple. I think it's my favorite quote, To thine own self be true. And so whatever authentically resonates with you, you go with it. If it makes you feel good, if you feel this is where you're called to, you do it and you do it as best as you can.

[:

[00:26:56] Natalie: Something that they can do to start digging themselves out of this hole?

[:

[00:27:16] Hadriana: And back in the day, when we used to, when we use floppy disks and the three and a half millimeter ones to record things and even cassette tapes or DVD CDs. If you didn't like what was on it or you needed space for something else, you would write over it. So you would record over the old stuff and the things that were there before, cause you no longer needed it.

[:

[00:28:05] Hadriana: If you're doing pros and cons, we're very good at doing the cons list. We, we struggle with the pros if you're struggling with, you know, building that confidence, believing that you can. If you're having a hard time seeing possibilities, I want you to create a log of every positive action that you've taken with your money.

[:

[00:29:07] Hadriana: Because the start of your journey. It begins with you believing in the power of possibility for yourself. So let's reinforce that. Create a log and track your possibility, your potential, and show yourself how again and again. You've done the thing, how again and again, you've taken the step, reinforce the good and let's leave the rest to God.

[:

[00:29:50] Natalie: No, that's great advice. Thank you so much for that.

[:

[00:29:54] Natalie: And we're going to transition into our rapid fire. So I hope you're ready. So I'll start with an easy question, massages or facial.

[:

[00:30:03] Natalie: Every time. Okay. A book that you think everyone should read.

[:

[00:30:11] Natalie: I love that. What's your favorite way to fill your cup?

[:

[00:30:18] Natalie: In three words, and I didn't plan this, but it relates very well to what you were saying. What's your version of a wealthy life?

[:

[00:30:29] Hadriana: What is my version? Three words?

[:

[00:30:33] Hadriana: Okay. Peace. Peace. Relationships.

[:

[00:30:56] Hadriana: Awesome. And thanks for having me, Natalie. I can be found on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook, just search out Money Navigator.

[:

[00:31:32] Hadriana: So just search your preferred method of interacting and taking all that good stuff in, and you can find it and look me up on my website, money navigator. ca.
